A bitter pill called Chini Kum

Yes, I hated the movie…yes I am sounding too vehement. I MISSED MY F1 RACE yesterday ‘coz the tickets were purchased for the film over the net, without a thought given to the race. It gets worse, Alonso won and I was not watching (for the non-race-watching ones, Alonso is the reigning World Champion and I adore him).
That was just the start. Now why did I hate Chini Kum…. ah let me count the ways-
Lets be generous and start with what was good in the movie:
- Tabu looked fantastic and was acting the part in her natural easy style, effortlessly.
- Production quality was good, that is, camera, lighting and editing were reasonably clean.
- The one song that I recall from the film had a catchy tune.

Now what was bad about the film?
- Bad dialogues, there were a couple of good jokes but they were stretched to the limit and became boring over the course of the film.
- Amitabh was his usual (current) loud, spoofy self, very annoying
- Too long, could have been an hour shorter (actually could have not existed at all)
- There was a sick, dying kid in the film called Sexy (!!!), who was making all kinds of sexual innuendos (creepy stuff)… but to give credit to the kid she was very smart and all, unlike the usual Hindi film chokably cute kids.
- Zohra Sehgal and Paresh Rawal, totally wasted with bad dialogues and silly roles.
- Mahatama Gandhi brought in again; the bane of Lage Raho… we will watch a whole lot of films using Gandhi very irrelevantly and irreverently, for a while now.
- Bad direction, Balki should have stuck to creating puke inducing ads, Fair and Lovely is his brand, I guess that says it all.
- And what is the big deal about a romance between a 64 year and a 34 year old, A SERIOUSLY AGING NTR, RAJNIKANT, RAJ KUMAR HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ROMANCING SIXTEEN YEAR OLDS!

Hey thanks for saving my money!!!

I think Amitabh should take a break now and rest for a while!!! I think dude is going overboard with his hoarse voice for quite sometime now.....for people who love him (FYI...i adore him in his younger days!)
